Creating accessible and inclusive processes for diverse participants.

We aim to co-develop places, events and processes where different people can participate in a variety of decision-making and democratic processes. These days, many of these processes are mandated to develop participation process with local communities, both adults and young people.

We use a variety of dialogue methods to develop these processes in a meaningful way. We worked with the organization or municipality to understand what they need input on. We then co-develop a process that is meaningful, using methods that can be simply communicated and where people can feel comfortable contributing and where they are heard.

We put a lot of emphasis on how participation truly influences the decision-making or planning process that’s being developed. The participation needs to be a real dialogue, where the participants get meaningful feedback afterwards about how their input influenced the process; what was considered; what was used; and what was left and why.

Our previous projects have developed collaborative process with schools and teachers during the development of a climate plan in Voss. Also we have led participatory workshops in the development of a sports and lifestyle plan for Osterøy municipality.

Here you can see a couple of the videos we made with the then-mayor of Voss to invite youth to get involved and the feedback video which told the participants how they influenced the planning process.

Below is the report from the Voss process which described the process we developed and carried out.

We value engaging in participatory processes where decision-makers genuinely seek dialogue with diverse groups.
